Auto Jobbs travelled just down the road to investigate a very rare occurrence that happened on this Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The customer informed me that he had broken down and the vehicle had been recovered back to his home in Whitstable with a very nasty fuel leak. Also, the customer had informed me of a loud chuffing noise before the vehicle broke down. The problem with this vehicle was that one of the fuel injectors had been leaking gasses over a period of time. The leak had become so bad that the injector ejected its self from the engines head, stripping the bolt that holds it in place. This required an engineer to come out and re-make a new threaded hole for the bolt to be re-entered into the engine to hold the injector. Also, the pipes and hoses that were attached to the injector required repairing. Auto Jobbs re-fitted the injector and repaired all of the fuel pipes attached. Another happy customer!
